Visualize this: an Australian day that refuses to go below 30°C, a driveway that is so hot you have to wear shoes to get your post, a pool that serves more as a spa than a refreshing lagoon and an electricity bill that is twice the price of the previous month because without an air conditioner you would shrivel like a sultana whilst watching your favourite episode of Great British Bake Off.
If you are living in Australia, particularly Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia, you will know what I am talking about, so when it comes to providing dinner every night regardless of the weather you are a bit stuck (A cold salad just wont do!).
To help I have compiled a really simple, fail-safe recipe that will make sure you spend as little time as possible near a hot plate but is also delicious and hearty. This is one of my staples and it fills up my teenagers too!
Happy January! Don't you just love New Years; fill of hopeful resolutions, lots of champagne and full of endless opportunities. It's a fresh start or a source of motivation from the year before so why not try cooking some cultured foods to look forward to every month?!
I love food, especially food with flavour and depth to it, so one of my favourite cuisines has to be Indian. I have wonderful Indian friends and whenever you walk into their home the smells of the wonderful spices and curries greet you at the door. There is always something new on the menu and I am often given a container full of food to go home with! Ok I could refuse to take their food but the smell and taste is irresistible!
I have found Indian food is cooked with love and care. It doesn’t have to be difficult and often the best meals are the quick and easy ones. I have to say some of the best Indian food I have ever cooked is in the EasyOven™. Because of the great heat retention properties, you can never overcook the f...
For those of us in the southern hemisphere – it SUMMER!! Not that I have anything against winter but summer is definitely my favourite time of year.
This is the time of year, no matter where you live, families come together, for fun and laugher sprinkled with lots and lots of food!
Living in Australia we don’t have the well-know “White Christmas”, instead we sit by the pool, jumping in and out when the heat gets too much, eating our iced lollies as fast as we can without simultaneously giving us a brain freeze and melting down our arms.
I also get to snorkel and scuba dive around the Great Barrier Reef without a wet suit, spend time on the beach and have the odd BBQ J and maybe the odd glass of giggle juice!
If you are like me – I love to eat but just can’t bring myself to stand in my hot kitchen while everyone else is enjoying the cool pool or sitting on the deck with the later afternoon breeze. So here are a couple of quick and easy recipes cooked in the...
We are so excited to finally announce that EasyOven™ has decided to launch a blog! Our team has been hard at work to make this happen and we are very excited to see everyone’s responses to the posts and recipes in the months ahead. This blog will include a little bit for everyone; some first hand experiences from the team about their experiences using the EasyOven™, travel trips and a couple of our favourite recipes from all around the globe!
EasyOven™ has always been at the back of my brain so to be able share it with the world is incredible! Over twenty years ago I came up with a design for a heat retention oven that not only kept the food hot during transport, but could continue the cooking process while in transit, saving time and energy. This early prototype was used when attending gatherings with friends and family, however, even though the design worked well, there was no place for a product like this in the market. Fast forward to the 2010 Brisb...
